Flat coastal ground, a great deal of wind, sandy soil – and a season far more clearly divided than in the south-west.
Mal Pas, Bonaire and Alcanada are quiet residential areas right on the water, with mostly level plots. The wind is the defining element here: it carries salt and fine sand onto terraces and into pools, blocks filters and leaves its mark on windows, fittings and outdoor furniture.
Sandy soil changes how a garden is tended. Water drains away faster, nutrients wash out, and irrigation times that suit the south-west are often too short here. We set the systems accordingly and watch how they perform across the season.
The season is more clearly defined in the north. Many properties are barely used from November to March. We use those months for deep cleaning, larger garden work and the repairs there is no time for in summer.
As in Pollença: the north is further away. We work there to firmly planned dates – and say plainly when the distance stretches how quickly we could respond.
